Beacon Point (2017) – Trailer

Take a trip to Beacon Point this May when the highly-anticipated science-fiction thriller lands on VOD via Uncork’d Entertainment.
The film, called “an intelligent and interestingly innovative inferno of horror, science fiction, folklore and thrills”, hails from talented newcomer Eric Blue.
Zoe has quit her job to hike the Appalachian Trail as a tribute to her deceased father. She joins a small group of inexperienced hikers for an adventure of a lifetime. The group is, Dan, recently divorced and looking for a change from Silicon Valley, Cheese, a 17 year old kid, and Brian, his half brother he has just met. They are led by Drake, a hot headed trail master with a questionable past. They are upbeat as they set out on the ten day trek through the Great Smokey Mountains. Drake leads them away from the main trail and the tourists, promising a grand adventure and sights they’d never see with the standard tour. After a gruesome discovery, they become lost deep in the mountains. The adventure spins out of control when they are terrorized at their campsite by an unseen force.
Rae Olivier, Jon Briddell, Eric Goins, Jason Burkey, and RJ Shearer star in an Eric Blue film, written by Blue and Traci Carroll.
Beacon Point on VOD May 2 and DVD on July 4.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988) – Trailer

“Killer Klowns from outer space…holy shit.”

Yes, I’m in a clown frenzy today. I’m fully fixated on the horrible rubber nose circus monsters. They’ve been around forever and many a film maker has taken a crack at clowning around the horror genre.

The best of the best of the best be the fabulous Killer Klowns from Outer Space. A elegant movie, from a more civilized decade. Plus, movie trailers from back in the day had so much more heart (and a lot less plot reveal).

Clown (2016) – Trailer

I know its been out for a bit now, but I just had to post the trailer. Let’s face fact. Clowns can be scary. Very scary. Done well they can make you shit your pants and them some. Case in point.

This one has been on my radar for several months and I’m tired of waiting around and avoiding spoilers. Look for a new Raw Review of said film this week. In the meantime, if you have seen the film enjoy trailer as a reminder of how horrible clowns are for birthday parties. If you haven’t seen the film, well… use your imagination.

Oh, and keep in mind that the director, Jon Watts, he is directing Spiderman: Homecoming. Muy loco am I right?!

UNHINGED (2017) – Trailer

Is it too late this evening for another trailer? No? Well then take a peek at Unhinged. A remake (wasn’t I just msing about remakes?) of the 1982 film by the same name. As all of you are aware, the 1980s generated literally hundreds of slasher films, many of which are not well known to film fans of that era let alone you up and comers. Lets see if 2017 can be a bit kinder this hidden gem. Oh, and believe it or not, you can pick up the original on DVD at Amazon.

Here is the summary of the new iteration…

Plot: Melissa and her three American bridesmaids decide to take the English back roads whilst travelling to her wedding in the countryside. On the way, a deadly secret forces the girls to be stranded in the woods. They discover a house, occupied by Miss Perkins, who promises to look after them until they find help. Little do the girls know, a dark evil lurks in and around the grounds of the house. Only when the girls come face to face with ‘it’ will they truly discover what real horror is…

The cast includes; Kate Greer (Neighbours, Fox Trap), Lucy-Jane Quinlan (Cage, The Cutting Room), Becky Fletcher (Fox Trap, Lucifer’s Night), Lorena Andrea (Papillon, The House on Elm Lake), Michelle Archer (12 Deaths of Christmas), Louisa Warren, Faye Goodwin and more.

Unhinged is Dan Allen’s directorial feature debut and is currently in final stages of post production, having shot in England September 2016.

Unhinged has signed a distribution deal with 88 Films and ITN Distribution for world wide sales, set for a September 2017 DVD/VOD release.

The Mummy (2017) – Trailer

As many of you are aware (or not aware), I have little problem with studios remaking, rebooting, reviving or re-imagining existing IPs. The problem I have is that too often they are either disjointed, poorly written or simply fail to conjure the essence of what made the original so noteworthy. Mix that with the annoying Hollywood habit of showing far too much of a film in the trailers and my response is lackluster at best. (Wanna see a well made trailer? Click here)

Today a new trailer for Universal’s newest attempt at The Mummy dropped. Needless to say it looks like a the standard summer tent-pole film. Big name actor, lots and lots of CG and a trailer that gives away so much of the story that you could probably show up thirty minutes late to the theater and still have little difficulty picking up the plot.

Still… I’m cautiously optimistic about this one due to the fact that I really want to see Universal’s monster-verse work. Casting Sofia Boutella as the Mummy is also a really cool idea. Take a gander at the trailer and let me know what you think.

It (2017) – Trailer

Wow. I have to admit that I was lukewarm on the idea of a remake. Stephen King’s book is terrifying and complex and barely came across on the first iteration. Even with the amazing performance of Tim Curry as Pennywise.

So imagine my surprise when the first trailer for IT (2017) came out and just blew me away. We’ve yet to really see or hear Bill Skarsgård play the homicidal clown, but I have to admit… they have my attention.

If You Haven’t Seen The Trailer For “Lights Out” You May Still Have Your Sanity

Produced by James Wan (Insidious, The Conjuring), Lights Out is full length horror film inspired by a 2-minute short film created by Jason F. Sandburg. Apparently Wan was so impressed by the short film he helped Sandburg develop it into a full length film.

According to an io9 article on the film:

They asked Sandberg, who made the short film with his wife in their apartment, to come to Hollywood and make the feature as his directorial debut. He admits it was scary to walk into the set with so much power, but Wan said horror is the rare genre where that’s not just okay, it’s encouraged.

Not only is that awesome, but awe inspiring. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
